Komandor designs, manufactures and installs custom interior glass doors across Toronto and the GTA — swing, sliding, bi-fold, barn and closet doors, made to measure in our Mississauga factory. The flagship is LUMI: framed glass doors born of the same European engineering as our glass partition system, so a door and the glass wall around it read as one architectural piece.

Types of interior glass doors
LUMI framed glass doors — our flagship glazing system: swing doors (LUMI Light, or LUMI Heavy where privacy matters — a larger door jamb with integrated doorstop, ~24 dB sound reduction vs ~15 dB) and sliding glass doors in slim matt-black or anodized aluminium frames. The go-to for offices, dens, bedrooms and entries.
Studio barn doors — aluminum barn-style doors on a face-mounted top rail (bottom track optional), in glass, mirror or panel inserts. Modern, industrial and loft interiors.
Aero frameless slab doors — minimal frameless sliding slabs on a slim natural-anode track — up to six doors on a double track, with a bottom track to keep multi-door runs aligned.
Étude bi-fold and pivot doors — folding and pivot doors in framed or frameless versions, ideal where a swing or full slide will not fit.

LUMI glass door specifications
- Frame: aluminium in black matte (standard), natural anodized, or custom powder coating in hundreds of colours and textures.
- Glass: clear laminated safety glass as standard, clear tempered where structurally required, frosted-effect laminated, or architectural glass — textured, tinted and ultra-clear styles.
- Swing hardware: doors swing left or right up to 170°; pull handles in three sizes, lever handles, locking handles (LUMI Heavy), self-closing hinges (LUMI Heavy).
- Sliding hardware: single or double doors beside a wall, in a niche or with fixed panels; optional soft-close mechanism.
- Decorative trim: horizontal, vertical or custom-angle divisions within the glass; transoms and fixed sidelights to 118″ overall height.
- Made to measure: measured, designed and fabricated to the millimetre in our Mississauga factory, with free servicing through the warranty period.

Are glass doors good for small spaces?
Yes. Sliding and barn-style glass doors need no swing clearance and keep light flowing, which suits condos and compact rooms. Our Studio barn door runs on a face-mounted top track that slides along the wall; a bottom track is optional and up to you.
Can glass doors match a glass partition?
Yes. Doors and partitions are coordinated in glass type and framing finish for a seamless look.
How much do interior glass doors cost in Toronto?
LUMI glass doors in the GTA start around $1,650 for a Light swing door, $2,200 for a Heavy door — the version with the larger jamb and integrated doorstop — and $2,050 for sliding glass doors, with large multi-panel sliders ranging higher. Studio barn doors start from $1,200. Sliding doors run on a ceiling- or wall-mounted track, usually with no bottom floor track, in single or double configurations. All published prices are for the product only, before tax; installation and delivery are quoted separately by size and complexity. Which glass door type is right for my space?
If the door should match a glass partition or make an architectural statement, choose a framed LUMI swing or sliding door. For a minimal all-glass look, Aero frameless sliding slabs disappear into the opening — up to six on a double track, provided there is a bottom track. Étude bi-folds, framed or frameless and including pivots, suit tight spots where a swing won’t fit. Studio barn doors add warmth and character, and sliding closet doors handle wardrobes and storage walls.
What is the difference between LUMI Light and LUMI Heavy doors?
The door jamb. LUMI Light uses a slim jamb with a 5mm reveal, ideal for keeping open spaces connected. LUMI Heavy uses a larger jamb with an integrated doorstop and no perimeter gaps — better privacy and roughly 24 dB of sound reduction against roughly 15 dB for Light. Heavy also takes locking and latching handles and optional self-closing hinges, which suits offices, bedrooms and bathroom entrances.
Can LUMI glass doors lock?
Yes — LUMI Heavy doors accept locking and latching handles (deadbolts excluded). Heavy is also the better privacy door for another reason: a larger jamb with an integrated doorstop and no perimeter gaps, giving roughly 24 dB of sound reduction against roughly 15 dB for Light. LUMI Light doors are non-locking by design.
