Fluted Elegance — Fluted Glass Sliding Partition Between Living Room and Home Office

HO-010

This layout had one wide opening between the living room and the workspace behind it — too wide for doors, too valuable to wall in. The solution is a four-panel sliding partition in fluted glass with slim black aluminium frames and bar-pull handles. Two panels glide on each side, so the office can be fully opened to the living area, half-open, or closed for calls.

Fluted glass is the working choice here: its vertical reeding blurs the desk, monitor and shelving into soft texture, so the living room never looks at office clutter, while nearly all the daylight still passes through. From the sofa, the partition reads as a glowing textured wall; from the desk, the room beyond stays softly visible so the office never feels sealed off. Black frames pick up the shelving and lighting hardware, keeping the palette to two tones.

Each Komandor partition is built to the exact opening — panel count, glass type and frame finish are specified per project and manufactured in Mississauga, then installed by our own crews across Toronto and the GTA.

Frequently Asked Questions

How private is fluted glass?

It obscures shapes and detail while passing almost all light — you see movement and colour, not screens or paperwork.

Can sliding panels open fully?

Yes — bypass panels stack to each side, restoring the full opening between rooms.

Is fluted glass hard to clean?

No — the reeding is on one face of tempered glass and wipes down like any glass surface.
